Welcome to our Doxie's garden spot on the web. The 'girls' are Sophie and Penny our long haired Dachshunds. Penny, the redhead is about 6 Months older than Sophie will be turning 6 in October. Both were rescued. Sophie has been with us for about five years now and have been a constant source of entertainment and irritation. That is the Yin and Yang of Dachshund ownership and we wouldn't trade it for anything.

About This Site

Penny is new to us. After Muffin crossed the rainbow bridge in September 2015 we were determined to be a one hound house. We were all feeling the loss of Muffin, but especially Sophie. Her companion, mentor and playmate was gone and we weren't going to replace her. She would have to learn to be an 'only child'.

That lasted a little over six months. It was obvious that Sophie needed a companion that could run as fast as her and share all things stinky in the grass. Muffin will not be forgotten and she has joined Heidi and Schatzi on their Memorial page. Now Sophie and Penny will be adding new tales. We hope to use the site to share some of the entertainment and joy the girls bring to us on a daily basis. There will be short stories, photos and an occasional short video. We hope to bring the visitor a smile from time to time.

We know that every dog owner loves their dog and most have special attachments to a particular breed. For us, it is Dachshunds. These are the fourth and fifth we've had. There is a link to the memorial page for the original 'Girls' website.
